Shot/Reverse Shot

The Shot/Reverse Shot is when 2 characters are having a conversation but the camera looks at each person as if from the point of view from the other which gives the effect that they are looking at each other and talking. Rather than just showing a conversation from the side this makes the conversation seem more tense and more of a conversation rather than watching boring dialogue going from one side to the other.

This video shows how the Reverse shot gives much more depth and atmosphere to the conversation and gives it more of a romantic feel. If the conversation was just shot from the side it would look to 'fake' and would look a lot more like it has just been acted.
